In addition to fixed project engagements, I also offer 60-minute consultations for clients seeking more short-term solutions to their data science needs.
Hourly consultations typically focus on helping clients:
- Better understand data science and machine learning fundamentals (including what it can actually do for their business)
- Plan initial stages of data science/ML projects/develop initial prototypes
- Anticipate potential challenges and chart out future directions for projects
- Answer questions they have regarding data science/ML
- Determine the proper data science methodology for their goals (e.g., Is ML really necessary?)

- Mathematically Credentialed: I have a Masters in Applied Mathematics and am currently working in pursuit of her Ph.D. I have a rigorous and robust understanding of the theory behind the models and analytics that I use with my clients.
- Business Acumen: I have a career background in Product, so I have a deep understanding of how data can inform business decisions. I’m also acutely aware of the perils of analysis paralysis.
- Small Business Focus: Small businesses are my bread and butter. I have specific experience working with limited resources to build models and analytics that will derive the largest impact with optimized resources.
- Teacher Aptitude: I am an adjunct professor at Belmont University, specializing in teaching freshman-level mathematics students to non-math students. I wholeheartedly believe in making math and analytics approachable.
While I take a customized approach in meeting clients wherever they are in their data science needs, my signature ACE approach typically involves three core stages in driving successful project outcomes.
Assess
Understanding where you are at as a business and what your current goals are (both high level and project-specific).
Create
Develop models and analyses that will efficiently solve the problems of the business.
Execute
Produce models and reports that the client can take action on.
Once we determine the pricing and scope for our project together, I split my payment into 3 payments. The first payment will be 30% of the total at the start of the project. Then 30% once we schedule the meeting to review the first draft of the final deliverable. Then the remaining 40% is due with the delivery of the final revised deliverable.
